Our History
1991
Our Foundings
Agogoman Mma Kuo of New York was created under the first chairman Mr. Agyemang-Dua as a way to come together as a community of people from Agogo. Over time, the activity reduced, but the heart was still there.
1997
Youth Movement
Agogo youth of New York approached Mr. Emmanuel Adu-Boahen to help revitalize the group. Together, youth and elders brought the Agogoman Mma Kuo of New York back with Mr. Adu-Boahen becoming chairman in a year later.
2003
Joining AWA
The Agogoman Mma Kuo of New York joins Agogoman Worldwide Association ( AWA ), led by Mr. Samuel Anyang-Kusi, to create a larger base and collaboration for the hometown they cherish and love.
2015
New Decade, New Chairman
Mr. Yaw Sekyere takes on the chairman role, maintaining the strength of the group after Mr. Adu-Boahen's 11 years of service.
TODAY
Continuing Progress
Today, we continue to support the communities of Agogo and New York. Under the leadership of Nana Kwabena Amponsah, the Agogoman Mma Kuo of New York carries forward Mr Sekyere's 10 years of service and aims for continued growth.
We are thousands of members
and growing.
With members across all 5 boroughs and greater New York, we are a growing community with a strong heart. We may be based in the Bronx, but our efforts are for the whole Agogoman community.
